SCOTTISH BORDERS
Stretching east to west across the border of Scotland and England the Scottish Borders has rolling countryside and picturesque towns to explore by foot, bike or car. Probably the best know of the borders town is Gretna where weddings are hosted at the famous Gretna Green and the woollen mill towns of Langholm, Moffat and Selkirk are well worth a visit.
Strewn with castles, fortresses, ruined battlements, elaborate stately homes, museums and art galleries, along with a coastline with secluded coves there is something for everyone to enjoy at any time of year.
NORTHUMBERLAND
Follow in the footsteps of a bygone era and walk Hadrian's Wall stretching east to west across the north of England. Visit Housteads Museum and find out how the Romans lived when guarding England against the Scots.
If shopping, art galleries, theatres and night life is more your thing then the cosmopolitan city of Newcastle has everything you need.
CUMBRIA, LAKE DISTRICT AND EDEN VALLEY
Cumbria is the perfect holiday destination for everyone at any time of year, the magnificent scenery changes with every season. Playing host to the largest mountain and deepest lake in England the Lake District is the ideal base from which to explore Cumbria including its coastline, the Scottish Borders, the Dales and Northumberland.
In contrast to the Lake District the Eden Valley follows the River Eden through the valley with rolling countryside, ideal for those who enjoy walking or cycling on the quieter country lanes.
THE DALES
